Something I wasn't really expecting in the opening months of this year was masked troupe PRESIDENT releasing new music. But here we are, and I've been proved quite seriously wrong. Dropping this brand new track on the 18th of Feburary 2026, PRESIDENT have promised a new start, and that the new campaign begins now. Here is my breakdown and review of their brand new track Angel Wings;

The opening of this new single is quite reminiscent of RAGE, electronic and pulsing. Once again, like it's spiritual predecessors, there's some brilliant use of the vocal sampling to build into the first breakdown, going rapidly from digital to analogue so so well, with the sweeping synth to underpin the tight turnaround. Moving straight through to into the chorus next, and it is good - their lead vocals are so much cleaner than their previous efforts, cutting away the subtle vocoding for a very human and raw sound. Notes are so well supported in the extremes too, clearly Mr.President has been practicing his screams. It builds really nicely once again before plummeting into the second breakdown, mixed perfectly so every instrument shines at its own level. The second verse hits morphing the first electronic sound with live drums, morphing their two sounds into a thrumming chimera. I also noticed some nice callbacks to fearless, the mirroring of the melody in the vocals, and then the motif of the spoken word segment before slamming straight back into the chorus.
Into the bridge, and it brings it back to the electronic - and although the comparisons to Sleep Token are somewhat overused, this bridge mirrors a lot of the themes of Caramel, talking about the mask, the representation of himself and the question of his identity. It rips into a triumphant final breakdown, which is insanely chunky, full of these awesome muted guitar harmonics and cymbals before morphing into the final chorus for a blazing finish. Seemingly this song is about wanting comfort from those around you that you love, whilst also wishing for a fresh start, a clean slate to begin anew from.
Overall, I like this track. It’s a great new start for PRESIDENT, really cementing themselves as a band you can never pin down. From surging electronics to sweeping synths and distorted lead guitars, this new song seemingly makes a stark new declaration - PRESIDENT are back, and they’re playing by their own rules. I can't wait to see what they do next, and even if this was just a one and done, it still shows this band moving in a brilliant direction.
